Eskom: All hands on deck this long weekend
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
Eskom says repairs to faulty generators and warm weather conditions are some of the reasons why they have managed to keep the lights on.
Eskom promised the country on Friday that load shedding over this long weekend would not take place. We had experienced scheduled power cuts on a daily basis for more than a week.
Eskom's Chief Operating Officer, Jan Oberholzer says they remain on standby to deal with any unforeseen incidents.
"All hands are on deck. All necessary and personnel are on standby to deal with any eventualities", he said.
"We are also making sure we do all maintenance, so wherever we have an opportunity to do routine maintenance on any of our generators we do exactly that", Oberholzer said.
