Eskom: 70% of power restored in storm-hit KZN
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
Eskom says power has been restored to about 70% of the areas
affected by storm-related outages earlier this week.

Some 193,000 people were left without electricity.
The utility says it has made significant progress in the province's northern parts, where infrastructure damage was less severe.
Newcastle and Empangeni are included on that list.

Eskom says teams have been facing challenges in the Midlands and southern regions, where accessibility is still an issue.
Meanwhile, the KwaZulu-Natal Premier’s office says the storms that hit the province damaged 134 schools.
On Friday, officials will assess some of the schools.
