A KwaZulu-Natal court has slapped four men convicted of murder with life sentences

Senzo Ndlovu and Nqaba Mbonambi were tried for the 2019 murder of Busizwe Mbonambi in Sudumbili.
The National Prosecution Authority in KZN’s Natasha Kara says the pair entered Mbonambi's room and shot him.
They learnt their fate in the Eshowe Regional Court this week.
The same court handed a pair of hijackers a life sentence each for the murder and robbery of Abel Nyawo.
Kara says the incident happened in Mandeni in 2018.

"The deceased, Abel Nyawo, who was in the company of his friend, had stopped his car on the side of the road when he was accosted by [Mxolisi] Gumede and [Innocent] Shandu. They were armed with a gun and asked Nyawo to get into the backseat.
"When Nyawo was reluctant to do so, they shot him and threw him out of his car."
Nyawo's friend ran for help while Gumede and Shandu drove off with the car.
Nyawo later died at a nearby clinic.
Gumede was arrested first while Shandu went into hiding, but the police eventually caught up with him.
