Environmental Affairs vows to address Durban south pollution

KwaZulu-Natal's Environmental Affairs MEC says the province, as a whole, needs to commit to action on air pollution - especially in the South Durban Basin.
Speaking at the launch of the city's Deadline2020 Climate Action Plan on Thursday - Nomusa Dube-Ncube said doing so, will help address the impact of climate change.

"We also focus on ensuring that the private sector and all spheres of government commit and work together to improve air quality.
"We must step up our efforts that are aimed at cutting emission and cleaning up the air to communities, especially within our South Durban basin."
"We undertake to work with industries, communities of Jacobs, Wentworth, Bluff, Lamontville, Umlazi and the whole South Durban basin to find a long lasting solution to air pollution," says Dube-Ncube.
