Empangeni church collapse victims laid to rest

Four KwaZulu-Natal communities have said their final farewells to the victims of the church collapse near Empangeni on the north coast earlier this month.

Funerals have also been held for the five people killed in a crash involving a taxi, truck and a car on the N11 near Newcastle.
The services were held yesterday in Ulundi, eShowe, Esikhawini and Howick.

MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs in the province, Nomusa Dube-Ncube was among the mourners.Dube-Ncube says proceedings went well.
"The services were very painful and sad, but we are thankful for the assistance from government in ensuring that the victims received a dignified burial."
