Eleven hurt in Botha’s Hill taxi crash

Eleven people have been rushed through to hospital after a taxi
overturned on Abambo Road near Bothas Hill, outside Hillcrest this afternoon.

Meditech ER says emergency services arrived at the scene and found the taxi off the road.
The commuters had already managed to clamber out of the vehicle.

Medics assessed them and found that two people sustained minor injuries, while nine others suffered moderate to serious injuries.
Additional medics had to be called to assist.

One person was airlifted to hospital for further care. The others were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The exact cause of the crash is still unknown.
Meditech ER’s Derrick Banks says the taxi rolled multiple times down a hill.
He says local authorities attended the scene and will be investigating further.
