Elderly woman found dead in Phoenix home
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Police are looking for the killer of an elderly Durban woman who was found dead in her Phoenix home.

It is understood the 69-year-old grandmother was strangled yesterday.
Her granddaughter raised the alarm when there was no answer at the door of the Esselen Crescent house after she returned home from school.
The child alerted family members who rushed over to find the body of their relative.
The police's Nqobile Gwala says while there was no forced entry into the house, detectives found that one of the doors to a room had been forced open and a safe stolen.
"It was discovered that an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery was taken. A case of murder and house robbery was opened for investigation at the Phoenix police station."
