Elderly man killed in PMB crash

An elderly man's been killed in a head-on collision with a truck in Pietermaritzburg.

Emergency first responders assisted the driver of the car on Bombay Road on Monday morning.
"On arrival, ALS Paramedics and Netcare911 found that a vehicle had collided with a truck head on the side of the road," says ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

"The driver, a male believed to be in his 70s, was found in a state of Cardiac Arrest. Despite resuscitation efforts, the patient sadly passed away on the scene due to his injuries."
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
