Elderly man killed in Durban attack

Police are investigating an apparent murder-robbery after the body of an elderly man was found inside his Berea home in Durban.
The man, thought to be about 72-years-old, was found in his Glenturret Road home this morning. His mouth had been gagged and his arms and legs bound.

Emergency services who responded to the scene believe he may have been dead for two days before he was found.Blue Security says he appears to have been severely assaulted.
Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says Mayville SAPS are urging anyone with information to come forward.

"The body was found by a helper who arrived at the home just after 10am. The man's arms and ankles had been bound. He was found lying in a pool of blood," said Mbele.Blue Security said in a statement that construction workers who had arrived at the property to do work flagged down one of their vehicles when there was no answer at the door.
