EFF turns focus to 2019 general elections
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
The EFF in KZN says the disbanding of the party's structures in the province was a strategic move toward a stronger performance in the 2019 general elections.
EFF president Julius Malema addressed a provincial general assembly at the weekend and introduced KZN's interim leadership core, whose chairperson is MP Mmabatho Mokause.
The disbandment was due to the province’s poor performance at the recent municipal elections.
The acting provincial secretary, Mlungisi Rapulile, says the national leadership felt that the previous structures weren't solid.
"Members have accepted this outcome with a positive response. We believe that for us to approach 2019, we need a vibrant, strong organisation on the ground that's what's the motive behind restructuring is," he said.
