President Cyril Ramaphosa won't be seeing red when he delivers his State of the Nation Address this evening.

The EFF says all of its MPs are staying away from the opening of parliament.

Six senior party members, including leader Julius Malema and his deputy Floyd Shivambu, have been suspended for disrupting last year's SONA.

Last week, the Western Cape High Court confirmed their month-long suspension, meaning they would miss the SONA.

The party file an urgent application to overturn the suspensions. The court this morning dismissed it with costs.

Reacting to the decision, the EFF says it rejects the ruling.

The red berets have opted to completely sit the SONA out saying any partial participation in today's SONA activities and programme would imply some of its members agree with what it described as unlawful and undemocratic decisions of Parliament to banish their members.
