EC girl (5) dies after brother (6) accidentally shoots her in head

Eastern Cape police say a five-year-old girl has died in hospital after her six-year-old brother accidentally shot her.
The incident happened at a home in Bethelsdorp in Gqeberha on Thursday.
Provincial police spokesperson Pricilla Naidu says they have opened cases of culpable homicide and defeating the ends of justice.

"According to our information, it is alleged that three children, two boys aged 6 years and a 5-year-old girl, were playing with a firearm in the room at a house when a shot went off.
"It is further alleged that one of the boys accidentally shot his 5-year-old sister in the head with a .38 revolver. On police arrival, the firearm was allegedly removed and could not be found."
