In June, the NPA withdrew the charges against the guards, citing a lack of evidence.

Scores of students marched from Curries Fountain to the Durban City Hall earlier today to hand over a  memorandum to the NPA and provincial police commissioner.

EFF Student Command member Sandiso Buthelezi, says they will continue to fight until someone is held accountable for Madonsela's death.

"All those who are implicated and involved in killing our student must be arrested and prosecuted. The university must also take responsibility and the security company removed and de-registered," said Buthelezi.

"We cannot allow a situation where a student is killed and the justice system delays the process."

The NPA accepted a memorandum on the steps outside Durban City Hall.
