DUT strike enters third week

Striking staff members at the Durban University of Technology say they won't return to work until they are given the salary increase they're asking for.
Workers belonging to trade unions, NEHAWU and the NTEU - are demanding a 10% pay hike.
The DUT strike's now in its third week.

NEHAWU's Khaya Xaba says management isn't willing to budge from its offer of 6%.
"Just to highlight our consultation with management - we were thinking of marching to the Premier's office or the offices of the ANC to try and intervene and speak to the employer so that workers can get what is due to them so that workers can return to work," he says.

Meanwhile, the student registration process is running smoothly at the varsity - with classes set to start next month.
