Durban woman faces charges of theft

A woman's appearing in the Chatsworth Magistrates Court today on charges of theft after allegedly stealing a large amount of money and a firearm from her employer.
She's accused of stealing a safe containing the cash and the weapon from her employer's home last week - after he and his wife had gone.
A case was opened at Bayview police station. The suspect was arrested in eShowe.
The police's Thembeka Mbele says officers recovered the stolen money from the woman.

The stolen gun was found in her boyfriend's possession in Verulam.
"After an intensive investigation by the police, they were led to eShowe where the 34-year-old suspect was arrested. Police continued with their investigation which led them to Verulam, at the boyfriend's home - where officers recovered a firearm and ammunition," Mbele said.
