A Durban man is fighting for his life in ICU after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in a shooting incident on the N3 last night.
The father-of-two's vehicle came under heavy fire on the freeway in the vicinity of the Felix Dlamini Road (formerly Brickfield Road) off-ramp at about 10pm.

Photos from the scene show Kotze's vehicle riddled with bullets.
His friend, Janus Horn believes it is a miracle that he is still alive."He sustained injuries to his back, under his arm, upper leg and lower leg. He is presently in ICU in hospital. It is an absolute miracle that he is still alive," said Horn.
"The bullet missed his spinal cord and his heart. We just hope he is going to make it."
"Daryl is the friendliest guy you will ever meet and would never harm a fly. He is a family man, a father of two children and takes great pride in the job he does," continued Horn.

"This is terrible I am so sorry. It is a total shame of what is taking place in our country," read one message.
The exact motive behind the shooting is still unclear at this stage.
No arrests have been made.
