Durban tourism confident in City's recovery plan

Durban tourism says despite the province's gloomy economic outlook, it's confident in the city's recovery plan.
It's been responding to the latest forecast by KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, who said a decline of 62% can be expected in domestic tourism in this year compared to 2019.
Due to the global Covid-19 outbreak, he said the drop in tourism for KwaZulu Natal equates to a 4-BILLION-rand loss.

eThekwini Municipality's Msawakhe Mayisela says while this is concerning, the city's put measures in place to keep its tourism sector alive.
"By virtue of being the only city in KZN, obviously we could a situation whereby we feel the pinch of the scourge of COVID-19.
But as a city, we not going to allow circumstances and continue assuring that tourism becomes a money-spinner for the city and entirely the province.
