The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department says two teachers who allegedly made racist remarks at pupils at the George Campbell School of Technology in Durban will be suspended pending an investigation.
Officials met with pupils and school management yesterday.
One teacher is accused of calling black learners monkeys.
The other is allegedly assaulted a pupil last year.
The incident, which was captured on camera, has been submitted to the department as evidence.

Protesting pupils brought classes to a standstill on Friday.
"What we are saying as students is that we've been waiting for the whole year. We want things to change now and they cannot carry on with the academic year until all our demands have been met," said one angry pupil.
Meanwhile, Education's Muzi Mahlambi says the department is investigating the authenticity of the clip and other recordings. He says they hope teaching resumes today.
"We are investigating the allegations of racism that have been raised by pupils, but our main priority is that while we are doing that, we want to have teaching and learning back to normal," he said.
