Durban taxi commuters advised to make alternative plans

While mop-up operations have allowed some activity to resume in and around Durban, some services are still disrupted.

Taxi operations are among those affected.

Commuters that need to get around either have to make other plans or contend with taking longer routes to get to their destinations.
In Umlazi, two of the access roads have been closed off.
The Umlazi Taxi Association's Regional deputy chairperson Senzo Skhosana says the situation is still bad.

"We are very affected by the flood. We can't even go through Mega City to town. Our Taxis now are running from Umlazi via Isipingo.
"There's a small place where you can pass through, but there's a lot of traffic because all the cars are using that route."
