Durban school pays tribute to principal

Learners and staff at Northlands Girls' High School are mourning the loss of their principal, who was killed in a car crash on the M4 in Durban last night.

According to paramedics, 49-year-old Roshni Moonsamy's car burst into flames after hitting a bridge pillar in Umhlanga.
In a statement posted on the school's Facebook page, the school community paid tribute to Moonsamy, describing her as a strong leader who embodied the values of integrity, commitment and compassion.
The school says learners and staff are receiving counselling.
Old girl, Tasmai Munien says Moonsamy's former pupils are devastated.
She says Moonsamy was her Maths teacher in 2012.
"For the five years that I've been at Northlands Girls High School, I can confidently say that Miss Moonsamy was the backbone and structure of the high school. Everything that has been done, was done by her hand. Even if it wasn't her obligation and duty to do so, Miss Moonsamy was there ensuring that there's the smooth running of everything."
"If I could describe her in a few words, they would be nothing short of - Iron Lady. Miss Moonsamy did everything above and beyond her personal life," she said.
