Mthalane pleaded guilty in the Durban Magistrate’s Court this week.
In his plea, Mthalane recalls the day of his first crime to which he confessesd, attempting to murder a motorist by throwing a rock at a car’s windscreen as it drove under the bridge in July last year.
Mthalane spoke of having pains in his body. He said he picked up a rock and threw it at the car and the pains disappeared.
He claims it was these recurring pains that drove him to continue his spree over the next seven months.
