Durban pupil, 7, receives hero award for charity work
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A seven-year-old boy from Durban is being hailed a hero after raising funds, with his own unique little twist, for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Tyler Sinclair collected over R10 000 for the children's cancer foundation, CHOC.
The Winston Park Primary School pupil was inspired to carry out the initiative after learning about the experiences of a cancer patient.
KZN non-profit organisation, The COWS - which works closely with CHOC - awarded the Grade 1 learner the Superhero Award at the school.

Organiser, Iris Varty says the youngster epitomises the notion of giving selflessly.
"Tyler's dad was in isolation for 24 days undergoing treatment so Tyler knew how sick his dad had become. When his parents told him little children go through what his dad had gone through, he wanted to make a difference. He got it off the ground by first doing chores, reaching out to friends and family, and going out of his comfort zone. Our Love Living Life slogan is very apt when it comes to Tyler," she said.
