Durban policeman shot dead in Isipingo

KwaZulu-Natal police are mourning the loss of one of their own.
The 54-year-old Warrant Officer from Umlazi had allegedly been with a companion in the Malukazi area when they were accosted by six armed men.

The suspects took his firearm and fled the scene.
The police's Jay Naicker says the Provincial Organised Crime Unit is investigating the case.
"His companion was also shot and wounded in the attack. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown," he said.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist investigators.
