Three in court for KZN policeman's murder

Three people are due to appear in the Umzinto Magistrate's Court today in connection with the murder and robbery of a police officer in Sawoti in southern KZN recently.
Police say 50-year-old, Thulani Mkhize was off duty when he was attacked. Two suspects were found allegedly carrying the officer's cellphone and torch.
Spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says Mkhize's car was found abandoned on the R612 Ixopo main road. It was on the wrong side of the road - facing on-coming traffic.
"His body was found with multiple stab wounds in the nearby bushes. Immediately after that, police started doing their initial investigation which led to the arrest of two suspects.
"Before the end of the day, another third suspect was also arrested. They were all charged for murder and armed robbery," she says.
