Durban police target hotspots in CBD anti-crime drive

Law enforcement authorities say they are clamping down on a host of criminal activities in the Durban CBD.
eThekwini metro police and the SAPS have teamed up for an anti-crime drive that took off on Wednesday.
Boysie Zungu, who's with metro police, says they are boosting patrols in crime hotspots and ridding the streets of drugs.

Illegal immigrants are also being moved under the clean-op operation.
Zungu says these efforts form part of a plan to make central Durban safe again.
"The aim of this police operation is to continue decreasing contact crime cases like robberies, theft of motor-vehicles and also to increase police visibility in the Durban CBD."
