Durban mom arrested for toddler's death

A 33-year-old woman is behind bars after her three-year-old daughter was found murdered in Durban.

KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says officers were called out to a flat on Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street in the CBD on Tuesday night.
Gwala says they found the body of child who appeared to have been strangled.
She says there were signs the little girl was beaten, possibly with a wooden rolling pin.

"It is alleged that the mother assaulted the victim with a wood rolling pin on the face and head. The motive for the killing is unknown.
"Durban Central police arrested a 33-year-old woman for murder and will appear in the Durban Magistrates’ Court soon."
