Durban Metro officer hit by vehicle near Umlazi

A Durban Metro Police officer is receiving treatment in hospital after being knocked over by a car while on traffic point duty on the M35 near Umlazi, south of the city this morning.
Parboo Sewpersad for Durban Metro Police says they're still unsure what lead to the incident. Sewpersad says the officer was rushed to hospital.
Initial indications are that the motorist had not followed the officer's instructions.
[This happened] whilst he was doing points duty. The member has been taken to St. Augustine's Hospital in Durban. The officer is in a stable condition. Motorists are urged to comply with all reasonable instructions given to them by points-men wearing uniform on duty," he said.
