Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
An elderly man who killed his partner and her two-year-old daughter has been sentenced to 35-years in prison.
Sixty-two-year-old Thembinkosi Ngcobo learned his fate in the Durban High Court on Friday.
Ngcobo last week pleaded guilty to the murders of 34-year-old Ntombifuthi Blose and two-year-old daughter Swelihle in October last year.
They were stabbed in their home in Phoenix.
In Ngcobo's plea statement, he said he'd got into an argument with Blose over a phone call that he'd received from her ex-boyfriend.

He says during the spat, Blose also told him that Swelihle was not his child.
Ngcobo says he became angry and started stabbing Blose with a bushknife while the child clung to her.
Blose died on the scene while Swelihle passed away on the way to hospital.
