The 62-year-old says he learned Blose had been living with her ex-boyfriend, who was apparently refusing to give her some of her belongings when she wanted to move out.
He says he advised her to get police to accompany her to her former partner's home.
Ngcobo further claims Blose's ex-lover phoned him and spoke about her.
The elderly man told the court he later got into an argument with Blose, during which she told him the child wasn't his and began packing their clothes to leave.
