Durban man appears in same court he tried to steal from

Police say the 48-year-old man was caught attempting to remove a computer from one of the offices in the Durban Magistrate's Court yesterday.

It's understood the man had been attending a housebreaking case related to an incident that happened several months ago.
KZN SAPS spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says he faces business burglary and theft charges.

"When he was approached and questioned he stated that he was a technician and was hired to fix the computers."
The staff member got suspicious and summoned the police. on further questioning the suspect, it discovered that the suspect is actually a con artist who steals from government offices under the pretext of being a technician.
She says the suspect will also be profiled to ascertain if he is not linked to other burglary business crimes committed in the Durban CBD and its surroundings.
