Durban man accused of selling info to rival company granted bail

A Durban man accused of corruption has been granted bail of R30 000.

Mohammed Darsot was arrested on Tuesday.
The State claims Darsot shared confidential information about the Westville food company where he was employed with a rival.
Darsot allegedly received payment for the information he provided.

The company claims it suffered financial losses of approximately R5 million due to Darsot’s actions.
Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says the case has been postponed to October.
"As a result, the company he was working for suffered a financial loss. A case of corruption was reported at Westville police station and the case docket was allocated to the Hawks members for further investigation, hence his arrest.
"He briefly appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court yesterday and was granted bail."
