Durban hospitals still relying on water tankers - Phaahla
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
Health Minister Joe Phaahla says some hospitals in Durban are relying on water tankers due to supply shortages as a result of the floods.

Phaahla says one of Durban's busiest hospitals is among the 66 health facilities affected by the disaster.
He says the water supply at Prince Mshiyeni Memorial Hospital has been disrupted by the damage to infrastructure.
The hospital sees nearly a thousand outpatients daily.

Phaahla says the water supply is gradually being restored to the affected facilities.
"Water is still being supplied to the following facilities through water tankers into their reservoirs: Wentworth Hospital in Durban, Prince Mshiyeni in Umlazi and Osindisweni towards the Tongaat area.
"Those hospitals are still being supplied by tankers. We still have a challenge in as far as making sure that Prince Mshiyeni hospital, which is a very busy hospital, can really be put to full capacity."
