Durban duo in custody after being nabbed with millions at Bloem airport

The two Durban men arrested at the Bloemfontein airport earlier this week after millions of rands were found in their possession - have been remanded in custody after appearing in court.
The Hawks say 25-year-old Baig Mahomed and 50-year old Mahomed Hoosen were bust at the Bram Fischer International Airport - with a total of R21.1 million rand on Tuesday.
An amount of 12 million US dollars and the rest in South African rands were found stashed in four big travelling bags.
The duo were due to board a flight to Cape Town before they were arrested.

“The 25-year-old from Durban had a previous conviction there, where he was found guilty for being in possession of dagga in 2010. Preliminary investigation showed that the two were traveling from Durban by car and the intention was to catch a flight to Cape Town,” he said.
The pair will be back in court on Tuesday for bail applications.
