Durban doctor praised in near-drowning rescue
Updated | By Portia Cele
A Durban doctor's being hailed a hero - after rescuing two men from a beach in La Lucia, north of the city.

A man was swimming yesterday afternoon, when he got into difficulty and was pulled out into deeper waters.
Nectare 911's Shawn Herbst says a doctor saw the pair struggling from the shore and immediately stepped in to save them.
"A local well-known doctor who was on the beach at the time - rescued both men - one of whom had a dislocated elbow which was reset by the doctor on scene. Both patients were assessed and found to be in a stable condition and went home happy," he said.
