Durban cops wounded in shootout with suspects

Two police officers are recovering in hospital after they were shot on Thursday night along Bellair Road in Durban's Mayville area.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says it was total chaos when they arrived at the scene.
"It is believed that SAPS was attempting to apprehend suspects and a shootout took place. One police member sustained a gunshot wound and was in a serious condition."

“He was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being rushed through to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that he required."
The second officer sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on scene before being taken to hospital.
