Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A Durban police officer is due to line up in court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.
He allegedly shot his 12-year-old son, after he mistook the boy for an intruder.
The man was arrested on Sunday night, following the horrific incident at their Manor Gardens home.
Police investigative directorate, IPID, which's investigating the child's death, says it's understood the father was asleep when he heard his son shouting for help.
