Clairwood boys murder case to go on trial next year
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
The two women charged with the murders of Clairwood boys, Luyanda Msomi and Njabulo Mankayi will stand trial next year.
The best friends, both 10-years-old, disappeared in November last year.
One child's body was found in Montclair, while the other was found in the Durban harbour. Both had been poisoned and strangled.
The ex-girlfriend of Njabulo’s father, Amahle Maliwa and her friend, Liziwe Ngwayise face charges of kidnapping and murder.
"The matter appeared in the Durban High Court and a trial date has been set for May next year. The accused will remain in custody until then. They face charges of murder, kidnapping and assault to do great bodily harm," spokesperson for the NPA in KwaZulu-Natal, Natasha Kara said.
