Dududu residents hopeful planned road upgrades will make life easier
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A
rural community on the south coast says plans to upgrade roads in Dududu will
make it much easier for residents to access schools and shops.

The Transport Department launched an R300 million road construction project for the uMdoni Municipality.
The P77 main road will be tackled first and upgraded from gravel to tar.
Seventeen kilometres of the route surfaced under phase one. Another 10 kilometres will be upgraded in the next step.
This will connect two traditional councils in the area.
Spokesperson Kwanele Ncalane says the P77 will also directly link the community to clinics, schools and public transport pick-up and drop-off points.
"This road is strategic in linking the district of Ugu and the district of uMkhanyakude. Infrastructure delivery is one of the key components of the economic recovery by the current government and this road will help in improving economic activities in the area and create much-needed jobs but will also provide relief to motorists and other road users.”
