Dube-Ncube 'never a suspect' in probe into missing drought-relief funds

Hawks officials and the NPA in KZN say Finance MEC Nomusa
Dube-Ncube was never identified as a suspect in their investigating into the
alleged misappropriation of drought-relief funds in the province.

Investigators. who began the probe in 2019, say they've been inundated with media queries on the MEC's alleged involvement.
The law enforcement authorities have now issued a statement to say that they're still working on identifying the culprits.
They acknowledged though that Dube-Ncube was approached for clarification on some information.

Teams from the Hawks and prosecutors however say they're not aware of an alleged plot to derail the MEC's elective campaign ahead of the ANC's KZN elective conference this weekend.
