Dube-Ncube ‘has work cut out to restore confidence’

A political analyst says the premier has her work cut out for her as she seeks to restore confidence in the province's leadership.

Nomusa Dube-Ncube will table the State of the Province Address in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday.  


UKZN-based analyst Zakhe Ndlovu says the July unrest hurt investment opportunities.


"The province is not attracting good investment because back in 2021, we had riots. I think there are still fears that riots could reoccur. So I think she needs to reassure those who are looking to invest." 


In a speech to mark the opening of the KZN Legislature, Amazulu King Misuzulu ka Zwelithini on Tuesday called for an end to political and traditional leader killings. 


AmaZulu traditional prime minister Thulasizwe Buthlezi says it's a critical issue as the country gears up for the elections in May.


"They can employ political parties to campaign in a spirit of tolerance and in an environment where there is no intimidation."
