Service delivery should top premier's SOPA agenda, say residents
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
Ratepayers associations in Durban and Pietermaritzburg want service delivery to top the premier's agenda when she delivers her State of the Province Address on Wednesday.
Nomusa Dube-Ncube's also come under pressure to look into the state of the province's municipalities.
She'll table the SOPA at Maritzburg's Oval Cricket Stadium on Wednesday morning.
"We need 100 per cent service delivery. Phoenix hasn't had water for how long. We were promised on the 15th, we had a meeting with the mayor, now it’s moved to the end of the month,” says eThekwini Ratepayers Association's Ish Prahladh.

Anthony Waldhausen, who's with the Msunduzi Association of Residents, Ratepayers and Civics, says municipal management challenges must be addressed.
"We need to look at the space addressed in the province. Some are under administration. I would like to hear her say they are going to, for example, dissolve the Msunduzi Municipality and out it under proper administration."
