DSW workers down tools, bring Durban traffic to standstill
Updated | By Nomfundo Ngcobo
Traffic's been brought to a standstill on a route in Durban this morning, as it's been blocked by trucks.

Disgruntled DSW workers are apparently responsible.
Durban Metro Police spokesperson, Zama Dlamini says they have told more than a dozen trucks are being driven at a snail's pace along Electron Road, near Springfield.
Motorists are having to follow slowly behind them.

Dlamini says officers have been deployed to clear some lanes.
The reason for the blockade isn't yet clear.
"Police officers are there, they are trying to understand the reason why they are on the road. Police are also trying to reopen the road."
As a result, Ethekwini Municipality has asked Durban residents to keep their refuse in their yards until further notice.
The city's spokesperson, Msawakhe Mayisela says, "The city’s leadership is prioritising this matter and it is pulling all the stops to ensure that the situation returns to normalcy with speed."
