Driver transporting children shot dead, pupil injured in Chesterville

A driver has been shot and killed in Chesterville in Durban on Tuesday morning.

He was transporting children to school in the Umkhumbane area.
Metro Police spokesperson Parbhoo Sewpersad says the scene is still active.
Paramedics are also treating a child.

"The shooting incident involved a driver who had been conveying scholars to school and he has been shot.
"Also, I can confirm that a senior scholar in the vehicle sustained my injuries. We are not sure at this stage what the motive of the shooting was. All services are on scene."
