Death toll rises to 7 in Hidcote multi-vehicle crash

The horrific multi-vehicle crash near Hidcote in the Midlands, has now claimed the lives of seven people.
An hours-long emergency operation got underway on the N3- when a tanker, a bakkie, a tipper truck, and a bus carrying 42 people collided on Monday afternoon, setting off a fiery explosion.
KZN EMS Robert McKenzie spokesperson said: "The bus, tanker and the bakkie caught after the crash as the tanker was carrying a flammable fluid.
"Tragically, seven people - all occupants of the bakkie - have sustained fatal injuries in this crash."
"Paramedics have treated 30 patients at the scene and have transported to a hospital where they are receiving continued medical care. The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage."
