Driver arrested in Vryheid for possession of dagga worth R2m

A suspected drug dealer is appearing in the Vryheid Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

The 39-year-old suspect was arrested in Vryheid on Tuesday night.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says he was found with a large amount of marijuana worth R2 million.
"A multi-disciplinary team acted on information about a vehicle transporting dagga from Paulpietersburg towards Vryheid.

"The said vehicle was spotted on the Stilwater Road in the Vryheid area and a chase ensued. The team managed to intercept the vehicle on the Vryheid and Dundee Road.
"Upon searching the vehicle, 11 bags containing dagga weighing 705kg was found," says Gwala.
