Drag race assault: Investigations underway
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN police say a case docket of the recent filmed assault of a Durban man at a petrol station has been handed over to the prosecuting authorities for a decision.
Kuben Pather was beaten up by a group of dragracers on Durban's Umgeni Road last month - for apparently getting in their way during a race.
Last week, police told Newswatch that five of the perpetrators in the video had been identified - and warning statements had been issued to them.

Pathers lawyer, Yusuf Essack, says they met with the senior public prosecutor and investigating officer in the case on Wednesday.
Essack says they were told that finalisation of the investigation is currently taking place - before any arrests and subsequent charges are laid.
