Dozens expected to rally outside court in Durban pastor case

Groups that protested outside the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court against a Durban-based pastor accused of sexual exploitation, say they will keep coming back in their numbers.

Some of his congregants from his church's PE branch also gathered at court in support of him. 

The case has been postponed to allow for further investigations that will include other provinces. 

The 58-year-old pastor from Nigeria is facing charges of human trafficking with some of his alleged victims said to be as young as 14-years-old.

But Pamela Mabini was there to show support for the pastor's alleged victims.

"The next time he appears in court, people are going to come in their numbers. We spoke to the organiser of SAVE SA, the ANC and the EFF. This is not about political parties - it's about everyone being affected by what's happening in South Africa,"  she said.


The pastor remains in custody and is expected to apply for bail at his next court appearance at the beginning of next month.
