Dlamini-Zuma speaks about rethinking leadership in Africa

The former AU Commission chief has called out corrupt government officials saying they're eroding the people's trust in government.

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has made her first public platform since returning to South Africa at a church service hosted by the Faith Ministry Church and the ANC Women’s League. 

"Corruption robs the state of its resources and the people of its resources. It is also corruption when you earn a salary and you don't do your work," she said.

Although Dlamini-Zuma did not directly speak about accepting the nomination to run for president, she called for more women to take up leadership roles across the continent.

"We say we want women in Africa to be in politics. We want women presidents in Africa. Right now there is just one, in Liberia and her two terms come to an end in October," she said. 

The Women’s League has thrown its weight behind Dlamini-Zuma for the ANC presidency.
