AU leaders praise Dlamini-Zuma's leadership, endorse her for next SA pres

African Union leaders have bid farewell to Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, as she ends her term as AU Commission Chairperson.
Incoming AU chairperson, President Alpha Conde from Guinea, applauded Dlamini-Zuma for her work during her tenure, and called for her to become the second elected female president on the continent.

Dlamini Zuma was the first woman in 50-years to lead the commission - which she served on for five years.
Her term as AU Commission chairperson ended at the AU summit that was concluded on Tuesday, with Chad Foreign Minister, Moussa Faki Mahamat, elected to succeed her.
Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo, extensively praised the work she did for women and on gender.
In her farewell speech, Dlamini-Zuma urged Africa to never allow divisions within the continent, and to take common positions in world meetings about issues.
