Digital Vibes scandal: Final written warnings for two senior officials

Two senior officials at the Department of Health
have received final written warnings for their involvement in the Digital Vibes
scandal.
Deputy Director-General Dr Anban Pillay and suspended departmental spokesperson Popo Maja have also each been handed a salary level demotion for 12 months.
In addition, Pillay has been suspended for three months without pay.
Health Department spokesperson Foster Mohale says a third employee resigned with immediate effect.

"The chairperson considered the evidence obtained, his findings and the representations by the parties.
“He also considered the fact that all those charged were first-time offenders, and there was no evidence led that suggest that they benefitted from the transactions.”
